Richard SchmittModeratorOn the actual CN or as an ULC meal?

Richard SchmittModeratorActually it does matter, the yolk within the egg contain Leucine, in a good amount 2+, you need to pair it with a fat source to counter-balance the insulin spike. Honestly no more than 5-6 even with a fat source is a good idea.

On a CarbNite what's it matter??During the week I'll eat 6 whole eggs for dinner but pair it with a fatty hamburger patty or bacon. Don't be afraid of the yolk!!!!

Richard SchmittModeratorThat's why I asked if it was on the actual CN or an ULC meal. ULC meal matters, on a CN I can see the question asking about it and there isn't a problem in that. Also no one said anything about being afraid of the yolk, just putting advice and a bit of information out there. Since it was discussed about before however it was a long time ago. It's great you can eat 6 eggs with a beef meal.

Scope75GuestAll I'm saying is eggs should be at the bottom of the list to worry about. Eggs with cheese , bacon and any other good fat source is plenty to keep the spike from happening and if anyone is still worried about it have some fat before your meal to slow it down even more.

Hey. As an ultra low carb meal, not on the actual carb nite.e.g. breakfast. 3 strips of bacon fried in a tablespoon of coconut oil, added three eggs on top.

GonnaBeGiantMemberSo if the yolk contains the high amounts of luecine, them could you do three whole eggs and say 8egg whites? Of course with added fats like butter or bacon. I guess I'm asking is the egg white going to cause as large of an insulin spike as the yolk or does not contain as much luecine?

samuel r walkerParticipantEat as many evg whites as you want, just balance all protein with the appropriate amout of fat obviously
