I transferred from a low-carb diet (for 2 months) to CBL three weeks ago.  I didn't do the reorientation, because I had already spent over a week in Keto-flu hell a couple of months ago, and never went back to eating many carbs until trying CBL. When I say not many, I mean never more than 80g of net carbs a day, but usually >50g a day. I'm a 6ft 3/4 in, man, and 37 years old. When I started CBL I was 201.5 lbs, ~23% body fat (Omron hand held).  Switching to CBL I did some HIIT to deplete any carb stores I had, which wasn't much cause I ran out of gas in less than 20 mins., and followed the >30g net carbs before a 5pm workout rule. After the first two weeks, I weighted between 207-209 lbs (day and time fluctuations), and a stable ~21.6-21.8% body fat.  That's the kind of change I haven't experienced since boot camp, and I hadn't bought the book yet, so afterwards I realized I was eating both too much fat before 5pm, and not enough carbs after.   Especially, since the last time I lifted, I did a HIIT session as outlined in the book, and ran out of gas about 90% through the same weight session I completed, no problem, the week before (I worked out the day before and therefore CBL the previous evening). The last point leads to the question of this post.  I looked up my base carb requirements in the BW chart in the book, and I have no idea how I'm gonna eat that much.  I've never eaten as much in my life as I have in the last two weeks, and have steadily gotten my net carb grams up to 316g (I track my marco nutrients using the "Fat Secret" phone app).  That's the probably as much as I've ever eaten over an entire day in a day in many years, and I literally couldn't put anymore food in me. (I've never been a junk food eater, and my excess fat is from a slow, gradual accumulation of a diet consisting of a majority low-gi, high fiber carbs; eaten mostly at breakfast). Now that I have both the CBL and Nite Carb books, know better and can use the guides and meal planners in Carb Nite to do the 10 day reorientation proper, then stay on the Nite Carb with my wife until I get below 10%, and switch back over to CBL.  The main reason to do this for me is to support my wife in her effort, and to finally determine the more accurate # of carbs I might need during a CBL night -using the weight-lost during Reorientation chart.  I know that my actual needs will vary, but I'd like to have a more accurate, objective upper-limit. Here's the question: how should I eat to prepare for the 10 day, >30g phase to get an accurate baseline of carb needs for CBL?  If I started today, I'd be starting with a mostly depleted stock of carbs; it's my second low carb rest day.  My wife has been doing a low-carb diet for a few weeks, but couldn't get through more than a day of keto-flu symptoms; so, she's starting from a low baseline, too. Here's what I'm thinking? We both started today on a ULC plan, a la CBL (coffee, MCT, etc...), and a low carb lunch. Today, I'm gonna take her to eat sushi and pasta (low fat). Tomorrow, we eat the hell out of carbs, to get at least the amount recommended in the BW chart over the day and a half period, plus another 50g buffer. Then Monday, we start the 10day orientation. Here's my concern with that. The day after the carb load, we might be starting with excess carbs and water over what's normal, which would skew the total weight loss further up and throw off the whole purpose of getting an accurate number.  So, maybe it's a better idea to just eat carbs normally over a couple of days and stop eating them about 3 hours before bed the night before starting. What do ya'll think?
