Transitioning from SA to DB

    I'm looking to start DB at the beginning of next month, but some of the tables in the back of the book don't make much sense to me. As a general rule of thumb, how much more should be added in terms of meals throughout the day? I train at 3pm, 3-4 days a week. Here's my current plan for SA:______ULCMeal 1: 2tbsp MCT oilMeal 2: 1/2lb bacon or 8oz ground beef, 5 eggs, plate of spinach & romaineMeal 3: 14-16oz steak/ground beef, plate of spinach & romaineMeal 4: 4-6oz chicken breast, 2 tbsp butterCBLMeal 1: 2tbsp MCT oilMeal 2: 8 slices bacon, 1/2c cheeseIntraworkout- 10g whey isolate, 15g hydrosylate, 5g leucinePWO-30g whey, 50g dextrose/maltodextrin, 5g leucine, 5g creatineMeal 3: Splurge

    Well doing DB, first off there is no ULC days, you eat carbs everyday. Now the days you don't train don't get all wild on the carbs have a normal decent protein/carb dinner, and MAYBE a dessert later on. When training, and hopefully it's heavy enough, go wild. Good luck and have fun

    Cool, thanks man. So on non-training days, any carbs taken in should still be at night, correct? Probably a stupid question, but just making sure there's not that drastic of a difference between SA/DB

    So the fat content for that meal would still need to be there then? Just add some rice or potato alongside the middle/last meal? I know fat content is kind of disregarded on backloads post-training.

    For the dinner meal? Try and keep it clean, and dessert shouldn't matter.

    I see when you were doing CBL SA you were using whey and hydrolysate intra workout.  How did this work for you?  Did you ever try it without the intra workout nutrition?  As far as I can tell from the CBL book, Kiefer recommends not using intra workout nutrition for CBL SA but when I was listening to Biojacked podcast #15 John Meadows said he used intra workout hydrolysates and carbs even when he was cutting for his show.  So I was just curious on your opinion of using the whey and hydrolysates intra workout and the difference it makes.

    I can't really say what CBL would have been like for me so far without using a hydrosylate during my workouts, but compared to before when I was on a 'standard' keto diet and wasn't using anything but water, it seems to keep me from dying halfway through my workouts. Also, it could be the creatine but I feel like I'm able to get an extra rep or two before hitting failure for a lot of lifts.

    I don't mean to bump an old thread, but what would be some suggested off-day meals while density bulking? The book says pizza, but I was under the impression that it should at least be somewhat light/clean. Can anyone shed some light?

    Goes by feel really. If you need more food eat. If you don't dial it back. Eat pizza and see how it goes the next day. If you feel like it didn't "work" then don't eat it on non-training days.

    That only goes for ULC part of it.
