Sherylea HurstParticipantI recently listened to a podcast regarding during contest prep Alex Navarro will use 2 carb nites per week. How does one know when to add that extra CN in to their weekly regime? Should your bodyfat level be very low before even considering that?

I'd suggest this primarily for when b/f% is very low, but you want to get much lower (to stage ready). It is great for a shock.Cory

monsoonParticipantI'd like to do twice a week, not because I'm close to stage-ready, but because I'm craving some carbs, dammit. How many days in-between is the minimum? Three? It appears he's changed his view from the book, which says 5-day minimum? Please tell me I can do a Carb Nite tonight even though my last one was Friday ….

There is a minimum of four ULC days between Carb Nites, so if you have a Carb Nite on Sunday night, you can have one on Friday night.

Richard SchmittModeratorYeah that'll be borderline CBL. I mean what's more important your goals or just eating carbs?
December 31, 2012 at 10:00 pm #128470
monsoonParticipantI've been super strict the whole holiday season and I just think I'm at a breaking point tonight and may cave. My goals are important but frankly, if I didn't lose any more fat from where I'm at right now, I'd be okay with that, at least for the next few weeks. I'm just wondering if some metabolic catastrophe would happen if I had a Carb Nite tonight after just doing one on Friday. Like suddenly gain a ton of fat.

I'm kinda the same boat - didn't do a full carb nite last night which was my normal nite - lack of sleep and the holidays - with tonight being New Years I'm thinking of just enjoying it in moderation to make up for last night then back on track in the New Year. Not sure what affect it will have.

Lesli BortzParticipantI've been doing two back to back since October. Working great but not for everyone.
December 31, 2012 at 10:28 pm #128473
monsoonParticipantYou mean two days in a row?
December 31, 2012 at 10:33 pm #128474
Lesli BortzParticipantYeah it's on the first page of my log. I think my heavy training plays a big part so it's worth looking at but as I said probably not for everyone.

monsoonParticipantBummer, I can't view your log, I get this message:The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

Lesli BortzParticipantHuh… I'll have to ask why…
December 31, 2012 at 11:06 pm #128477
monsoonParticipantI think it's just yours. I can view other peoples.'

Lesli BortzParticipantMight be in CBL only still…now I'm curious lol
