ItzThatGuyShaneKeymasterHello everyone, I just wanted to know what all would consider the best sources of fat to choose to include in your CBL diet? The main reason I am asking is that at the end of this week I am going away for a few days, and won't be sticking to CBL, so when I get back I will be restarting the whole thing and almost all the fats I eat now come from plant sources such as avocado, peanut butter and olive oil, although, I have added grassfed butter recently to one of my meals rather than the olive oil I used to use. The only animal fats I really eat is extra lean steak mince (I don't like the fatty mince)I am aware that people recommend using animal fats and MCT oil (I do use coconut oil for my AM accelerator shake but outside that I don't use that at all) and it is something I am going to implement when I restart CBL.I have searched the threads and have seen odd posts here and there about this but nothing that has been able to firmly help me. Thanks.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorAnimal fats are the best. Saturated stuff. So grass-fed butter and ghee, grass-fed cream, grass-fed tallow, pastured lard, duck fat (okay, not the "best", but damn good) are all good.MCT, coconut, and palm oil are great plant sources.Things like nut butters and avocados and such are okay to eat, but you should really focus on having the base of your fat intake to being the other sources mentioned.Don't go crazy about it though.

What type of animal fats do you like to use? One that I am looking forward to adding is bacon, should have started off with it in my diet in the first place as I saw it in the sample meal plans that is in the CBL book. I am more than likely still going include one serving of peanut butter on my ULC days just simply because I love the stuff.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorBacon works good. Just eat butter, fatty beef and fatty pork. Egg yolks and fish are also great.

Thanks, I will add these into my diet. I already eat salmon so I got the fish part covered.

CCTMemberMy favorites are bacon cooked in grass fed butter, and grass fed butter whipped with stevia and vanilla. Easy to eat and delicious sources of fat
