sjm-GuestI can, but that meat will be pollute (dont know if its right word in eng lang.) after 2days.You mean like whole vacation (7-10days) w/o carbs?2 more question guys.First:*I will go to the gym on Sunday (5pm). == back-load in the evening*after that i will go to the gym on Monday (5pm). == back-load in the evening*after that i will go to the gym on Tuesday (9am) == ??*after that 2 days w/o gymSo my 1st question is, should i backload on Tuesday or noSecond:*same like "first question" but i will go to the gym also on Wednesday (5pm)Should i backload on Tuesday and also Wednesday ?- I read the book, but i still have mess in this. I know if i train two mornings back to back, I should eat carbs the night before that first training session, back-load that first training day, and then not back-load the evening of the second training day

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorJust say screw it and do DB for a week and have fun. If you feel like you need it you could always do 4-7 days ULC when you get back.

+1 for your edited questions, just do what you feel is right and then hit it back up once you get home. It'll be a good idea not to stress about it unless you're having a competition for a certain weight class.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorAgain, I'd just backload every night like running DB and have fun then go a ULC stint when I got back.

Tanner FoxParticipantIf you were preparing for a contest then I would recommend staying on your diet. But if you are truly in this for the long haul, why not enjoy yourself on vacation? Out of the course of your training lifetime, do you really think it will make that much of a difference?I personally NEVER have breakfast just out of habit. Usually around noon or so I won't begin an all out assault of backloading, but I will eat like a normal person until bed time. Unless your job is based on being shredded, or you are preparing for a contest, I could not justify in my mind NOT enjoying my vacation. I have been at that stage where I wasn't really preparing for anything but I NEEDED at all costs to stick to my diet and I regret those times as I wish I would have enjoyed myself. Being older and wiser now I see that.People who deprive themselves to this level (like during vacation) are 1) miserable and 2) more likely to go on an all out week long binge that will actually do damage. CBL teaches the brain that when we can have carbs we need to push it to the limits at all costs, but you also need to de-train your mind and shake this habit during a longer period off like this. This was a bit tougher for me but if you stay conscious of it you will have the best of both worlds.Just my two cents....

Brandon D ChristParticipantWhen I went on vacation I simply ate a pound of bacon at around noon and ate a big dinner with carbs and deserts. There was a fair amount of liqour and beer thrown in too. It was the equivalent to a small backload and I think it's plenty enough carbs for the average person here. I didn't gain any fat at all on this trip and I got to enjoy some food. I wouldn't advise a Carb Nite style binge every night though.

pshannonMemberTanner is right. Why not just go enjoy your vacation. Its a week out of a year. It might be nice to see what happens, it could be an experiment.

jcgomezMemberWhen I am on vacation and I am not going to be lifting–for example, now as I type looking out at Vail mountain–I usually switch back to CNS and if I drink, I try to eat low fat and I will also take some NAC and vitamin B. I also try to throw in a carb nite or two.

Jeffrey HansenParticipantI asked this very question for the podcast, Kiefer said he is going to answer in a podcast so we will get his take soon, but what I did is similar to Ibobland. I did the mornings as usual, lunches as usual then enjoyed the evening as everyone around me did. Never out of control, but enjoyable. When I got home after 8 days I had not gained anything. The next day I hit it semi hard at the gym and had a small backload, the day after I did some hiit and a small backload and I lost 2 lbs. I did not want to go crazy, not because I am a model or in a contest, but because I am having such good progress and I really want a six pack September.

In case some of us miss the podcast, will you please post what Kiefer says?
