    Waiiiit. Hwc is out?

    No, it's fine.

Big Tex, I missed this but on CN I do morning workouts on Sat and Sun.  So would hwc still be ok in my coffee pre workout?  I understood what to do post.

I wouldn't, just the coffee. What time in the mornings?

Having it pre-workout would be fine. Just avoid protein to keep insulin levels low.

Did he address timing of carb shock and rest of the day when intra-workout nutrition was in question? ie HBCD

    Don't use Intra-workout nutrition.

It's only on back and leg days. Any reason behind avoiding the intra? I've emailed him but can't get a response

Interfering with the catabolic process of training.Just try going 3-4 weeks without, You will adjust fairly quickly. I started trying the waiting and skipping IWO and I noticed I was getting hot when eating carbs again and waking up much tighter and felt no difference in recover.

Typically my only morning workouts are on Sat/Sun...I get up around 7-8 and drink until 9:30ish then workout around 10:30ish.

It would be fine to have cream in your coffee before hand.

Thanks!  If I have to give up my cream to get the body I want, I'm fine with it…..but i”d rather put it off as long as possible! LOL

Hi,What was the latest view on morning workouts, e.g.Wake up - what to take pre-workout?  (I'm using caffeine and coconut oil right now)Workout - I understand no peri-workout nutritionWait one hourTake carb-shock or equivalentUltra low carb dayCarb load at night if working out the next morning?Do we take carb-shock again or no need to spike insulin at night if we are carb loading already? Thanks,Ed

Coffee is good, however he did go onto to say that caffeine with carbs in the AM TRAINING only can be advantageous. So like if you took caffeine that morning, and then some carbs in the PWO Shake, it wouldn't hurt. Caffeine/Coffee (A couple cups) is good as a Pre-WO.Carb Backload that night after the morning session, and I do assume to backload the night prior like from CBL. No need to take it again in the evening, you already took it that morning from the AM Training.

Hi - follow up question on the morning workout protocol, especially given the new insulin management advice from Kiefer. If we spike our insulin in the morning post-workout, then when we carb backload at night should we focus on LOW GI carbs instead of HIGH GI carbs so that we don't spike insulin at night?  Kiefer mostly talks about post workout nutrition but if you workout in the morning then I'm confused on what to do at night regarding managing insulin.  Thanks!

No, you still backload with the same higher GI carbs for glycogen replenishment.

just to be clear on the HWC with AM training. it's not advised now to have any until at least an hour after carb shock or the main insulin spike whatever you use?

Correct. So AM training would look similar toWake - Coffee (could have fat load) - Training - Wait 1 hr - Spike insulin - wait 1 hour for anything other then MCT.
