JizzmoKeymasterHey guys… Ive been following CBL for a few months now and Ive been holding my weight steadily with some nice strength gains and recomp effects (which was exactly what I intended to do). However theres one thing thats really confusing me:Everytime I kind of go over the top with a backload (observed this at 500g, 600g and last backload even 750g of carbs) my weight goes down within the next 2 days. I usually have 2 non-training days a week that I dont backload on. I keep these days low carb low calorie (usually aim for 2000 kcals, while my workout days are mostly 4000-5000).After a huge backload my weight is always a little lower after the next non-workout day.BUT: If I only backload 300-400g of carbs my weight slightly increases over time.Example: 2 days ago my weight was 78.7 kg before my workout. I backloaded 750g of carbs (never went as high before), came out at around 5200 kcals. Yesterday (non workout day) I ate 1900 kcals. Todays weight was 76.9 kg (i always weight at the same time at the gym so these are no daily fluctuations).Another thing is that if a non workout day follows a really huge backload, I feel like my body is burning twice as many calories on the non-workout day compared to when a non-workout day follows a half-assed backload of maybe 350g carbs. I "feel" this, because I cant think about anything but eating and I'm pretty damn hungry on non-workout days.I also pee A LOT on these days, maybe my body gets rid of some glycogen/water on non workout days?By the way, I think I'm kind of an extreme example, because I lost 9 pounds during 7 days of prep phase (no fatty, around 170lbs, 10% BF). Felt pretty small so I just started backloading after 7 days 🙂 Plus I've done keto diets before so my body knows how to handle low carbs.Long story short:The more gigantic my backloads --> the more weight I loseIt's kind of funny because it was usually hard for me to not eat in order to lose weight, but now its kind of hard to get in all those carbs, lol.Anyone made similar experiences?

Richard SchmittModeratorMaybe you're gifted…envy that right now too. I have A couple times have a Carb Nite, slam about 700g worth of carbs and then two days later I'm below my Pre-Carb Nite weight. Not sure how, but could be possible that your body is burning it off quickly. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

dmmethodMemberThe more posts I see like this, the more I'm starting to think we don't eat enough. I've kinda discovered similar results. If I just straight kill it at the dinner table I seem to drop weight and stay strong. If I slack off I tend to feel jiggly. I love eating more.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorI have the same results. I started at 300-400g a night, and when I started upping it to 600+ I saw much better results.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorI feel like the answer to half of the questions on the forums are either eat more fat or eat more carbs.

BraingainerGuestSounds interesting !My Backloads are about 400g carbs but my bodyfat is higher than yours.I eat about 3500 calories but my weight is everyday on the same level. Maybe I should eat more carbs but I think I have to do the prep phase after my journey to see how many carbs i need.I did it like you. Train 5 to 6 times per week with 1 or 2 non training days where I eat about 2000 calories ULC.

JizzmoGuestWhat kind of fat levels were you getting in?150g a day AT LEAST... usually 40g fat/40g protein before my workout (i work out around 3pm and start my backload at 5-6pm) and then i just stuffed my face with whatever i wanted to. i often eat 2 boxes of ice cream (the 2 pound ones), which is nearly 400g carbs and 100g fat already. well, i just see what i can get in, i usually stick to one huge meal (which can take an hour) during the backload, but the 750g-binge was divided in 2 meals, i really cant get down 750g carbs at once lol.

I have been CBL for quite some time now and when I started with Kiefer his response was "You are not eating enough on the backloads". I really thought I was pushing it but apparently not enough. Right now we are implementing little bit of CBL and CarbNite. I am having more carbs than I ever have and getting harder every day. For you heavier muscled guys out there, go overboard first to see how you respond versus slowly adding in more and more carbs to see where you should be. The response you get from that will tell you a hell of a lot more than 10 weeks of slowly adding more carbs in and spinning your wheels.

What about us dudes that are around 175-180 and looking to lose BF while getting stronger. I know Kiefer states that there is more area under the curve for people with more muscle.
