Mjl1030MemberWhile on the topic, I am going to a Twins game tonight. What are the best ballpark foods to binge eat on? ;D

shaerowMemberHey guys... Ive been following CBL for a few months now and Ive been holding my weight steadily with some nice strength gains and recomp effects (which was exactly what I intended to do). However theres one thing thats really confusing me:Everytime I kind of go over the top with a backload (observed this at 500g, 600g and last backload even 750g of carbs) my weight goes down within the next 2 days. I usually have 2 non-training days a week that I dont backload on. I keep these days low carb low calorie (usually aim for 2000 kcals, while my workout days are mostly 4000-5000).After a huge backload my weight is always a little lower after the next non-workout day.BUT: If I only backload 300-400g of carbs my weight slightly increases over time.Example: 2 days ago my weight was 78.7 kg before my workout. I backloaded 750g of carbs (never went as high before), came out at around 5200 kcals. Yesterday (non workout day) I ate 1900 kcals. Todays weight was 76.9 kg (i always weight at the same time at the gym so these are no daily fluctuations).Another thing is that if a non workout day follows a really huge backload, I feel like my body is burning twice as many calories on the non-workout day compared to when a non-workout day follows a half-assed backload of maybe 350g carbs. I "feel" this, because I cant think about anything but eating and I'm pretty damn hungry on non-workout days.I also pee A LOT on these days, maybe my body gets rid of some glycogen/water on non workout days?By the way, I think I'm kind of an extreme example, because I lost 9 pounds during 7 days of prep phase (no fatty, around 170lbs, 10% BF). Felt pretty small so I just started backloading after 7 days 🙂 Plus I've done keto diets before so my body knows how to handle low carbs.Long story short:The more gigantic my backloads --> the more weight I loseIt's kind of funny because it was usually hard for me to not eat in order to lose weight, but now its kind of hard to get in all those carbs, lol.Anyone made similar experiences?
Curious, Jizzmo, what's your intake of the other macros during the back load? Not the ultra low carb part

JizzmoGuestCurious, Jizzmo, what's your intake of the other macros during the back load? Not the ultra low carb part
I dont really watch them... My pre workout meal is always 40g prot 40g fat (i always eat the same kind of cheese, i cant help it but i love it), but during the backload i dont really care and just eat whatever I feel like. Its usually ice cream, pizza, rice pudding and stuff like that so not exactly low fat foods.I dont really know if feeling good and tight in the morning has something to do with fat intake, right now Im thinking it mostly depends on the carbs.I doubt that Ive been ever below - lets say- 80g of fat during a backload though.

AciDMemberThe answer on the show wasn't exaclty satisfying, because Kiefer didn't have a chance to read this topic. Hopefully, he is going to come here and answer us.

All right, but do you have any meat/protein or anything like that with?
June 26, 2012 at 7:08 pm #58333
shaerowMemberBetter yet, do you post a log at all? Also what is your weight/age/height/body composition? And I'm still 13%+, I don't think that I would need as many carbs since leptin is more prevalent w/ higher amounts of adipose tissue
June 26, 2012 at 7:14 pm #58334
zewskiMember^^^Working off of that, any of you other guys with success from bigger backloads over 12% or are you all fairly lean?
June 26, 2012 at 7:15 pm #58335
JizzmoGuestAll right, but do you have any meat/protein or anything like that with?
yeah sure, i make sure to get in around 130-170g protein during my backload. i aim for 170g protein or more a day, sometimes a little less on non workout days to keep the 1:1 ratio but to keep calories low.

what do you mean with the log? i didnt quite get that...im 5'8, 170lbs, 19 years old, BF is probably hovering at or a little below 10%...

That's great to know then, I thought it would be biased by the fact of being leaner and requiring more carbs to boost leptin levels

By "log" I mean what you eat/do throughout the day, sharing information by benefits/losses of backloads/daily routines/lifts, etc.- a member log
June 26, 2012 at 7:22 pm #58338
shaerowMemberAnd by making a member log, you can also receive advice if you are struggling… which in your case seems unlikely haha, but I'm assuming we are all curious to know how to benefit the way you backload

JizzmoGuesti was asked this before on a german forum… im actually too lazy though, i mean i do track my macros, workouts, weight etc on my iphone but just for myself and to gauge progress. im honestly too lazy to re-type everything into my computer 😛
