davecat7272MemberI own the CBL book but not the cns ,I once got super ripped around 7% bf and stayed there for a few months until my body simply gave up,I was looking for ways to make it sustainable but I think being like that year round is just not possible,I used “skiploading” and ud2 by lyle Mcdonald as the 2 methods to get there along with IF,skiploading is kinda similar to cns, then I went off the diet and rebpunded to around 15%bf, got CBL book and tried it and it didn't work for me at all,I guess I didn't do it right,I did the prep phase but then I was loading way too much I think ,mainly bread and I was just getting fatter and fatter even thou my cals for the first halve of the day were low and no carbs,I went back to skiploading and is working good as always, would like to try CBL some day but I'm afraid that plan is not for me,can post pics of when I was at 7 so I can get some insights from you guys unto how to get back there using a different strategy since skiploading works very well BUT during the week is just low cal draggin a$#@ all the way, tyvm Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

You are over complicating it a bit my friend. I have worked with Skip before, and my Skiploads got up to 12 hours, but my kcal were crazy low during week. Keto dieting will give you more leeway, but you still cannot eat liberally during week and then have crazy refeeds unless you have a large amount of lean Mass. Good rule of thumb-moderate kcal during week=moderate refeeds. Low kcal during the week=crazy refeeds. I prefer and get better results with the latter, it's whatever floats your boat. Just my thoughts, hope it helps.

How low calorie would you go during the week? I've been considering eating nothing but chicken and veggies during the week at around 1600kcal and having a big carb nite...i'm all over the map

That is a psmf and will be hell to maintain. Get half your calories at least from fat.

Thanks for the clarification bro! I do feel the same way with skiploading ,and you can definitely help me on this one since you have already worked with skip, very low cals during the week=Massive skipload, moderate cals during the week =moderate skipload . Right now I'm doing a cycle of rapid fat loss from Lyle McDonald category 1 from his book which consist on a 11-12 day (no more than that,I'm on my 9th day )crash diet, extreme low cal ,no carbs and only fish oil fat and just protein and non starchy vegetables with very little gym time, at the end of the cycle you are to do a 3 day refeed with the most carbs and as little fat as possible, funny thing I've encountered is that the days I workout on this crash diet(3 times a week), is when I look the worst, whereas the days I stay away from the gym is when I look the better and see the improvements, planning to go back to ud2 from Lyle McDonald after this crash diet cycle.

I own the protein sparing modify fast PSMF by Lyle McDonald also but I haven't read it yet, but from what I understand ,but I could be wrong, is something similar to what I'm doing on his rapid fat loss hand book , a very low cal diet consisting only on protein and non starchy vegetables with very little fat and no carbs, cals are very low at around 800-900 a day, that's the average I've being consuming on this crash diet but my hunger is very little ,I do get to eat unlimited vegetables thou so I go hard on the broccoli .

The protein sparing modified fasts from Lyle Mcdonald, or things like the Velocity Diet I think work pretty good for fat loss, not sure how it compares to a more moderate diet for lean tissue loss? The real problem as I see it is your gym performance and energy will tank. Why dont you just do what Kiefer recommends in CNS - 1g of Pro and .5g of fat, either for bw or a bit under? Load when you start to flatten out if you are pretty lean already so that might be 4-7 days.

I think i'll do this. But what do you mean by 'flatten out'? How can I tell if im lean enough to warrant more frequent carb nights? See my avatar, if that helps.

Richard SchmittModeratorThe leaner your body fat is the more evenings you'll need carbs. Flatten out is being depleted and soft. Kinda like a flabby state after a couple days away from the last refeed.

If i'm feeling soft the day after a carb nite, does mean I overdid it?I find I feel pretty "pumped" the mornings after I would have a small amount of carbs in the evening. This is what i'm going for, right?
November 22, 2013 at 3:29 pm #208907
Richard SchmittModeratorIts common to feel that way after a CN, since you are holding water. Back loads and Carb Nites differ from each other because of the amounts you roughly take in. Backloads you want that tight feeling, a CN is a 50-50 chance. Some get a decent tightness, and some get it the next day. It varies. You're goal is to get carbs back into your body to replenish glycogen stores and get the metabolism churning again.

lfabbricMemberJust a thought, your macro's seem a little off. your protein is a bit high compared to your fat. Why dont you try switching it around and keeping your calories near 2400.2440 kcal Daily Calorie Intake20 g Carbohydrates (3%, 80 kcal)125 g Protein (20%, 500 kcal)207 g Fat (77%, 1860 kcal)http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ is a nice tool.
