albert ryloMemberI'm 5'9 165I have been doing cal for about 6 weeks and have gained about 7lbs.. My bodyfat% has stayed the same although I'm trying to drop like (like pretty much everyone). In currently at 10%. I cbl about 200 grams at night and usually work out fasted in the mornings. I lift heavy and rarely do cardio. I eat about 160 grams of protein per day. If I work out 6 days per week should I cbl for all 6 or should I carb cycle as well?Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Richard SchmittModeratorThis would depend, and individual. What is your training program like? And experience?

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorIf you are truly 10% BF and wanting to drop below that you are going to have to track calories and macros and be in a deficit some way. It's going to require things be a lot more precise when getting under that 10% mark than it is to get to the 10% mark.

I'd lower your training (and backload) frequency to 4 days per week. In my personal opinion, CBL works best on training 3-4 days per week. This will probably benefit your strength as well.Additionally, what is your ULC nutrition like?

ARMANDO R QUINTAL-SParticipantI know Kiefer suggest not to count calories, but I had to start doing it for this thing to work and if you do it it does miracles, when I used to cut with a normal caloric deficit I lost strength, and for some reason this doesn't happen with CBL, thats why I use it I guess that if you are retaining strength and actually getting stronger you are retaining all your muscle mass.

Bruno CattoriniParticipant7 lbs of gain in 6 weeks with the same body fat % is pretty impressive. I am sort of like you, 5'9 almost 150lbs, last time they measured my bf with caliper I was at around 9%. I don't know if it helps but I am doing about 210g of protein a day and about 250-350 carbs during my training days. I was able to go from 143 to 150lbs and drop down to 9% but it took me a few months of trial and error. Also like armando suggested, counting calories with myfitnesspal helped me a lot.
