Hi guys, just working out what is best for the high girl carb source in my post workout shake. I'm following the shake by the book and have the caffeine, whey isolate, casein, hydrolysate, Leucine and creatine. I'm not a big fan of bananas but it says to add 30 to 40g of high gi carbs.Any ideas?Cheers guys

Most people here go with Dextrose due to how inexpensive it is.  You can get it for a dollar or two per pound online (if you like purchasing it with a protein powder from TN or similar) and much cheaper if you find a local home brewing store.

No problem.  Other options are waxy maize, highly branched cyclic dextrin (easier on some people's stomachs), rice dextrose (rilose), and really any other simple sugar.  Sucrose isn't the most terrible thing in the world postworkout, though some might tell you it is.

Thanks for the help mate, looking forward to this cbl. I have been on the anabolic diet for the last month to get the body fat down and stumbled upon this yesterday. Going to go low carb till Monday and start on the cbl, thanks again for the help.

This is specified in the book, in the same chapter as the table with the shake formula.
