pshannonMember12-20 is NOT fine with any type of fat source.
So, I'm confused. If 10g is fine w/o fat. And, if fat blunts any insulin surge, then why wouldn't you be able to have more than 10g if you're including fat?
ahh *face palm* more than 10g of whey isolate will spike insulin making fat burning non-exsistent the rest of the day. Especially in the morning. space this out for 2-3 hours if that's all you want to take. anything more than that will not prove to be beneficial. Animal fats/proteins are a different story because they are not made of whey isolate. Using that shake with 50-50 in a meal won't be the same. However I'm sure you can do this PWO when you're done training and insulin levels are not as high like in the morning/first wake up.
Tex, I literally have *face palmed* twice in this post!

Not for me! :-To be perfectly clear about what you're saying:Under no circumstances are we to have more than 10g of whey in one sitting.Adding coconut oil or heavy whipping cream does NOT counter the insulin spike of more than 10g of whey.It IS ok to have >10g of whey IF it's with a food meal. That's what I think I got from your posts. Have I got that right?

Whey should NOT be a part of your daily diet. It should be used PWO, and can be used to <10g if you have fat added to it.Dairy protein, specifically in liquid form can easily spike insulin, and no, fat wont blunt it.

Sorry. Well just don't do more than that during the day, PWO is ok to have more whey because I'm assuming you drank some after training?Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Other than fasted walks up some hills, I haven't been training because of my minor injuries to ham, elbow, and shoulder. (sigh) In fact, that's why I switched from CBL to CNS.

Jeffrey HansenParticipantAlso, Kiefer mentioned in one of the podcasts that fat takes a few hours before it is used as energy, whereas wpi is much faster.
