Trevor G FullbrightModeratorYou can have both. I'd skip it both pre and post.

Brandon D ChristParticipantNope you are absolutely forbidden from mixing. If you do Kiefer, will know and he will find you and yell at you.

Brandon D ChristParticipantI'm sorry, I don't why I felt the need to do that. Mixing is fine.

skinnykid13GuestIs there ever such a thing as having too much heavy whipping cream in your coffee? I'm asking this from the perspective that you have a lot of fat, but no protein in it for the first thing you consume in the morning.

Yes you can have too much whipping cream, but i has to be a lot. If you consume too much you won't be converting your bodyfat to ketones as fuel, which is what we are trying to do in the morning. Instead you will be producing ketones from the fat in the whipping cream. You won't gain any fat, but you won't lose any either. This happened to a guy on here before who was drinking cups of whipping cream and oil.

Actually I was looking for this guy's topic. Do you have a link?

skinnykid13GuestIn that case, what would you think is an ideal amount of fat in grams that you should get in the morning from whipping cream? I realized that I might be taking in too much, sometimes adding up to 30-40g of fat from hwc to my morning coffee. I'm guessing this means just to get more fat from animal sources instead.

Typically we like to fast for 12 hours (from time you ate the night before) and during this fast we can have "trickles of fat", meaning a couple tablespoons of whipping cream. There are some people on here that do have 30 g of fat in their coffee during the fasting period, but I personally don't reccomend it. I wouldn't go over 20 g. That is just my opinion though. Remember the more fat you eat, the less you burn during this fasting period. So in my opinion, eat the bare minimum you need for the metabolic benefits. All I have is a tablespoon of coconut oil during this time.

KieferParticipantFirst of all, I would mix the two, contrary to some people's warnings of my impending wrath for doing so (I can be known to be a bit of a pedant about this stuff).1) The coconut oil can give you a burst of triglycerides which can promote ketone production.2) The whipping cream will absorb slowly and feed the machine for several hours (it's available for energy about 2 hours post-ingestion).3) Contrary to myths propagated by apparently bullet-deflecting gurus, heavy whipping cream also contains butyric acid, which has health benefits all on its own.How much depends on your goals: For SA, assuming it's the first calorie-injection, 10 grams of each would be a nice blend. And as ibobland said, the more fuel you ingest, the less the body is going to mobilize for fuel.In pre- and post-workout, MCT might have benefits depending on how you use it and time, dosing, prior feedings and co-ingested nutrients. The basics: you can add 10g or so of coconut oil pre-training with creatine and caffeine, and just skip it post training (although some situation exist where pure MCT can be utilized post-training, but this is currently under development).

Jonny1337Guestjust a question. can i use coconut milk with 10 gr iso whey and some coffein instead of coffee with whipping cream? i like my white teeths and dont want to loose them 🙂
June 29, 2012 at 9:26 pm #59002
Lasse ElsbakParticipantCoffee won't make you lose your teeth, but I understand what you mean. 😛Caffeine does not have the appetite suppressing qualities coffee does, but you do get the same wakefulness, metabolism boost, and most health benefits.

Jonny1337Guestthanks, that was the answere i was hoping for 🙂 wasnt sure 😛
