Who limits fat in their backloads? Who doesnt? Wheres the line? Personally I dont really limit fat in my backloads, but there have been times where Ive gone quite high and others where Ive gone reasonably low. The difference? Not much. In fact Im fairly certain now that the thing the determines whether or not I wake up bloated is down to the source of Carbs in the backload. High GI for the win!Whats everyones opinion here?

I eat a decent amount of fatty carbs and so far so good 🙂

Last week I backloaded 2 nights in a row, the first night I did low-moderate fat, the second night I just ate whatever I wanted, I felt so much better and looked better after the backload full of fatty foods.

We used to recommend a low fat backload on this forum (myself included) however anecdotal evidence, as well as some research, shows that fat in backloads is actually better.  Not saying eat spoons of butter or oil, but you don't have to limit fat.  Kiefer also mentioned something about fat increases the insulin response in the presence of carbohydrates.  My personal hypothesis is if a food is really satisfying and tastes good, it probably will generate a nice insulin response.

It also helps to replenish intramuscular triglyceride stores as well. Besides, who the hell wants plain white rice and plain sweet potatoes all night?  I (metaphorically of course) stick my face in pizza on carb nite, as well as gorge on Reece's peanut butter ice cream with magic shell.

I'm not afraid of it persay, I just try to limit it somewhat because I can probably put away more food than 99.9% of the population in one sitting, and with lower fat sources I can have more volume without fucking up too badly. Also, high-fat high-carb tends to stimulate my appetite to a point where I lose track and really overdo it. It all depends on the individual really.

LOL - we might have to compete for that title. I was joking with my husband last night about how much I could eat - how I could keep up with him (and he's a pretty big guy) but he just had to add "more than any guy I know"...PFFT.But alas, I keep eating the fatty carbs and all is well so far...

I'd throw my hat in the ring for that one.I could see a eating contest an awesome eating contest if this forum got together for anything.

Does the suggestion that fat doesn't matter in backloads change at all if you workout in the morning?

That would be freaking awesome! CBL Eating Contest lmao! I'm pretty sure it would happen at an expo or something. Pounds of bacon and beef during the day washed down with coffee, go train, and fork lifts of pizza boxes and a freezer truck of ice cream...

Has this thought tonight as I was walking out the grocery store next to come obese dude. “I bet I could eat more then you.” I know kind of terrible, but I'm competitive. Fat really does make a difference in back loads. It goes down simpler and get full but nit bloated

I get stared at by the "chunks" (as Kiefer states haha) when I'm in the candy isle, ice cream isle, cookie isle, or looking at the donuts in a bakery! This is keeping me very interested though, by adding more fat to the backloads, I'm thinking of trying to down my first Gluten-Free Pizza from Dominos this Friday >=D
