shaerowMemberIt also helps to replenish intramuscular triglyceride stores as well. Besides, who the hell wants plain white rice and plain sweet potatoes all night? I (metaphorically of course) stick my face in pizza on carb nite, as well as gorge on Reece's peanut butter ice cream with magic shell.
Could you post a link/study showing this? It's not that I'm in disbelief, rather I'm curious how I could improve my backloads

Lesli BortzParticipantDid anyone see the news story of a guy who got thrown out of a all you can eat cat fish joint for eating to much?Yeah, that would be us, haha.
Lmao no I will need to find that! I know I saw a sign that stated this:"All you can eat buffet, not an all day buffet!"
There IS a limited window of time for CBL. Would have to be there less than 4-6 hours! >.>

We should all find this place and after the first week of Kiefer's Detox diet we should have our all of our 6 hour Carb Nites there. Im pretty sure we put those people out of business!

Luis S.MemberHAHAH this thread reminds me of when i used to wrestle in high school. Every weekend after after starving our selves to make weight and wrestling for hours we would go to cicis pizza to eat. Yeah, half way through the season we were banned from there, and golden corral >:(

Works for me if Kiefer says so haha, seriously? That's awesome. I didn't exactly know that we carried stores like that besides in the golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum. MOAR FAT!

Gl;itch.eMemberThis thread has gone exactly to plan! (;Its quite liberating to not have to fit to the carb/protein or fat/protein only meals that was becoming prevalent thanks in part to John Berardi >:(Everyone knows that fat and carbs together makes the most deliciousness!

+1, I was listening to that advice for a long time. I actually tried taking in more fat during my backload last night and I was leaner this morning. Not listening so much to that advice anymore

Daveski731GuestI like to wave my fat intake during backloads. Typically after a high fat backload i look fuller. Thinking this has to do with trigylcerol loading of tissue.

thestiffmeisterParticipantI used to re-feed pretty aggressively before I even knew CBL existed, but what has changed is I don't freak out as much and allow myself more guessing/not caring about fat content which gives me more choices and better results since I now avoid slowish carbs like the plague. I used to carb load on like..whole grain bagels, oatmeal and whole-grain bread. The bloating was just horrible lol

shaerowMemberI actually took in a lot more fat during my backload last night, my skin was visibly tighter and I had much more definition 😮 I don't think Bernardi is entirely correct on his hypothesis, the situation, however where I do think his hypothesis is correct is IF you don't lift recently before you backload (i.e. you work out in the morning or the day before) as there isn't an advantage of tGLUT in muscle cells over tGLUT in adipose cells. Hence I did a bodyweight workout last night after doing a morning lift yesterday. Side note- legs are shot.

Tanner FoxParticipantI'll leave the studies to Kiefer but I will admit I went on the “he told me so” premise as well. Science points us in the right direction, Kiefer understands the studies and dumbs it down for us, and we try it in the real world. For those of you on the fence, skip to the last step and try it and you will see

Gl;itch.eMemberHypothetical question. Would it matter where your calories are spread during the backload? Maybe youd want to eat your highest amount of carbs and fat (hence calories) at the start of the backload and tapper the last meal back somewhat, maybe only in terms of fat amount. Dunno. Thoughts?Early into my backloading experiments I tried eating all my carbs in the first meal and eating only a protein/fat meal before bed, thought this would help me get into fat burning quicker at night. It didnt seem to work as well as spreading the same food out up until bed time. Started losing strength in the gym, and looked sloshier in the mornings.
