I've seen a fair few posts since I got on here where people say, I've been on the carb nite solution diet for 18 months, lost some fat and I'm stalling at 21%bf.What's that about? If this works so well then why do some people not get near top results?I mean I'd expect calorie counting with periodic slight overfeeds to work better than that (like 400 cals under BMR plus any exercise per day and slight overfeeding at the weekend). When this appears to be so solid in terms of tapping into the fat loss mechanisms of the body, how could someone be on the diet for 18 months and made only a bit of progress?

A mix of either simply greatly over eating, or often times large amounts of metabolic adaptation from long periods prior of extremely low calories, then going very low calories on carb nite as well.In most cases at least. Some people simply don't have enough muscle mass to actually get significantly lean as well.

Fair enough, that makes sense. Not sure on the muscle mass one though.  Surely you can get really lean without a lot of muscle mass.  I mean look at soccer players for one.

You may not look lean, and your body fat will still be higher because fat mass will make up more of your total body mass. Plus, the more muscle you have the easier it is to get lean because you have more metabolic tissue.

You're over thinking a lot of this too.

I've been on CNS for 18 months. I wasn't big to start with, 5'9″ x 83kg or so. I'm now 77-78 kg. Definately lost inches in my waist but I'm still trying to get rid of a small belly. Above and below I have good definition, although that actually accentuates the little belly hahaha.I think I wasn't eating enough calories, so I've recently upped them, and i lift more weights now as well. It's a bit annoying but I suppose I'm a bit slower than some others. My ULC are planned and pretty good. Carb nite I definately eat 400-500g carbs though I must admit I don't track protein or fat ( keep it low fat til halfway through ). I will say this though, I tried losing weight via calorie reduction before. I did lose weight, I was a smaller version of myself, that's it. This time I seem to have kept muscle while losing the fat. Slow and steady I guess.

How so?I don't want to be making sacrifices and stuck at a plateau.  If I have to think a bit in the beginning to figure it out, then so be it.  That's what I do with anything I want to understand and then I barely think about it at all, or just help others when they want it.  I find that works very well for me.

That's fine as I am the same way, but I think Tex was trying to say that Carb Nite is really a very simple diet.  You just don't eat carbs, except one night a week.If you read these forums you would think no one get results on Carb Nite.  That is because most of the people who come to forums have problems like the one's Trevor described in his post.  People who are successful on the diet generally don't come here.

Yea, I kind of figured that as well.Or else you get guys like me who want to know exactly what they are doing.  I'm a sportsperson and I also train people from time to time as well, so it is my business to know the ins and outs.CNS is working for me, I've no doubt burned some fat already and even added muscularity.  I've also had the energy issues that I wanted to ask about, but in fairness that was talked about in the book as something to expect at the start.  I suppose that is why Keifer calls it ' The 2 week challenge'.

I definitely did not mean to sound rude or anything, but to back up what Ibob said. CNS is seriously simple. Most folks do over complicate it, and over think the simplest task. Don't eat carbs, train lightly or smart, and eat enough protein/fats in the week to feel satiated. Now the folks who are “shredded” are the ones who did CBL to gain the mass they wanted, while using CNS to “shred” down. Also does help to have a Body.io Certified Coach. It all boils down to how your body is and what you do to make it work.

Cool, didn't get emotional or anything, haha.I just like to get my head around things.  That's how I get things simple.I understand what you are saying, that you don't have to be crazy about it.I don't think I am, as I say its just how I approach things.
