Jos SutoyoParticipantFemale/32 yr/5'6″/112.9 lb/ body fat 19.2% (checked with bod pod)Looking to be lean and mean: gaining lean muscle mass without gaining fat.Workout 4 days a week at homeTypical workout:Example (upper body day)3x5, 3x3, 3x1 Seated pull up with a dip station (assisted on the way up, unassisted on way down)Then LovingFit: http://www.lovingfit.com/exercises-workouts/5d-strength-workout/And 11 sec rest / 11 sec active for 10 rounds - HIIT skipping-all might during 11 sec.Nutrition: following 99% paleo lifestyle (no grains/legumes/dairy)Starchy carb source mainly sweet potatoes or yam - typically about a size on an iPhone (lengthwise).Train mostly AM in fasted state. My question: Does this type of training work with CBL for my fitness goal? Thanks!

Richard SchmittModeratorBW workouts may work but the backloads might have to dial back some or go about doing CNS.

Jos SutoyoParticipantSo that means I have to eat less than an iPhone sized sweet potato/yam on my backload nights or you mean just go totally CNS when I only have carbs once a week regardless my training days?

Oh no I mean if you planned on having tons of foods it won't be ideal. BW workouts can be ok for CBL, just tweaks will have to made but CNS I am most sure it will be better there.

Jos SutoyoParticipantOk I for sure won't load a lot of carbs on backloading cuz women won't usually need as much as men 🙂 As for tweaks for my WO, any suggestions? I do have weights such as:35lbs sandbaga pair of 12-15lbs dumbbell2 mini SB (10 lbs each)one 10lb metal bar - which I could make into a DIY olympic bar by strapping my sandbag and my 2 little 10lbs SB.Example of my upper body weight training:3x5, 3x3 3x1DB upright row & press up (a pair of 12.5lbs DB) - used 15lbs at last setDB triceps kick back (a pair of 8lbs DB)push upsseated pull ups with dip station (assisted way up/unassisted negative way down)Any suggestions/tweaks for my WO will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
